The Virginia Tech Tartan

    The Virginia Tech Tartan

The Scottish Register of Tartans was established by an act of the Scottish Parliament in 2008 to protect, promote, and preserve tartan. The Virginia Tech Tartan was inspired by the university's colors of burnt orange and Chicago maroon. The additional elements of the blue and white windowpane represent the Corps of Cadets, which has served the campus since 1872. The Virginia Tech Tartan was certified in 2008 and is registered by the Keeper of the Scottish Register of the Tartans.
